I want to thank you, Lisa for changing my life in positive ways. I was introduced to you, iMindBody and the SMART program at the lowest point in my life. I went to bed healthy one day and woke up the next day with a complex cancer diagnosis. In a pandemic. Isolated from extended family and friends. Facing worsening discord within my immediate family under the new pressures from cancer and COVID. I was terrified and stressed and didn’t know where to turn. I was referred to you by a doctor who knew I desperately needed a lifeline. You were that lifeline. From our first meeting, it was obvious how much expertise and passion you have on the mind/body connection. You really care and strive to make a difference offering a perfect blend of people skills and scientific expertise. You lead with empathy and compassion, yet infuse firm support and guidance. You are brilliant, yet you have the gift of being able to explain complex concepts in simple terms. You taught me—in plain vanilla language—the physical effects of stress on our bodies. I’ve known for years that “stress is bad” but never really understood why, or exactly how bad it is. I now know. That knowledge is power. You also taught the tools—not complex tools—simple tools that require very little effort once you have them in the toolkit. I call upon the tools every day thanks to you. I completed our curriculum 2 months ago and I am grateful and proud as I tell you that I continue to use the tools daily—I now cherish the same meditation that felt awkward at first. My gratitude and prayer journals are longer by the day. I’m aware and pay attention to the stress signals in my day to day living and recognize when I need to pull out my tools. I am happier and healthier because of you. My relationships are stronger. I feel a renewed sense of hope for my future, Lisa.
